David Wyeth
David merged Barcroft Partnership with The Difference in 2006. David’s background is Management and IT Consulting and he has wide experience of making and managing private equity investments and executing M&A transactions in the IT and Telecoms sectors. He has completed some thirty international M&A transactions including the sale of owner managed and private equity backed businesses, management buy-outs and corporate acquisitions. Transactions include: MBO of the Government owned Chessington Computer Centre (payroll and HR managed services), sale of Media Vision Research (market research) to Taylor Nelson Sofres, sale of Relational Matters (business intelligence software) to Cognos (Canada), sale of Linkhand (document management) to Melstar (India), acquisition of The Mandelbrot Set (Microsoft solutions partner) by Charteris, sale of ISA (Microsoft CRM/SharePoint) and Azzurri Education Division.
David’s initial career was in Management and IT Consulting with the PA Consulting Group and other organisations. He then spent a numbers of years in the venture capital industry focusing on technology investments prior to founding the Barcroft Partnership, a corporate finance boutique which focused on sales of private companies, corporate acquisitions and the provision of strategic advice to shareholders of private companies in the IT sector. He has an honours degree in mathematics from Cambridge University, a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University and a PhD in Computer Science from Newcastle University. |

Maurice Bond
After ten years as a Programmer and Analyst, Maurice entered IT Sales and Marketing for bureaux and software houses. Joining Hewlett Packard in 1980, he spent ten years as an account manager for partners and major accounts, and also as Field Marketing Manager for commercial systems. During the 1990’s Maurice undertook senior European management roles in the fields of software engineering and business intelligence, including Metaphor (IBM) and Corvu.
In 2000, Maurice joined Jeremy Asher to found a Technology M&A team for a leading accountancy firm, which was spun out to form The Difference in 2001. Since that time he has completed many transactions and advisory assignments, including 2 lengthy interim management positions for European clients/partners. |

Jeremy Asher
Jeremy Asher, has an extensive track record of M&A deal execution and strategic advisory projects. Jeremy is a qualified accountant and has nearly forty years of industrial and commercial experience - over twenty years as CFO of International Companies in the IT and communications sectors, working in Europe, the USA and Japan.
For the last thirteen years Jeremy has concentrated on Strategy and M&A and has completed nearly forty M&A transactions and over fifty advisory projects, including turnarounds and strategic reviews. Amongst others, Jeremy has completed projects for Fujitsu (most recently the sale of their Finnish Mobile Billing software Business), Mitel (Canada), Buhrmann (Holland), Misys (Software), Telenor (Norway), Autocue and Severn Trent IT Services (Utilities), Core Projects & Technologies (Indian IT Services) and Azzurri Communications. |
